Down through the years, generations of winegrowers have been fascinated with their traditional labours and the importance of passing them on. Men everywhere have given the sweat of their brows to achieve such harmony. The reins were gradually taken over by a new generation during the 1980s. Athletic Stéphane Croizé took over from Ernest Scaglione, he of the legendary courage. Agnès Henry-Hocquard arrived at the estate, aged 27. A novice winegrower, she took on Thierry Puzelat, a veritable wine toreador, as her second-in-command, and he was smoothly replaced by Antoine Pouponneau in 1994. Each in his own way has made the vineyard what it is today, through his or her temperament and the technical, physical and cultural methods of the day. In addition the estate's manageable size has always made it possible for one and the same person to occupy the roles of chief viticulturist and cellar master, thus ensuring optimum production and quality, knowing how to live in harmony with the land, guiding the site towards the production of wine.
