The Fte du Millsime is held every year, on the first Sunday in December, at the port of Bandol. This is a link with the old tradition, whereby the winegrowers would carry their barrels down to the sea for shipping at the start of their voyage. It's an opportunity to meet around 30 other winegrowers from the Bandol appellation and to taste their freshly made, still rough wines, straight from the barrel. A different theme is chosen every year. The stands are decorated and the winegrowers are unrecognisable in their disguises. This non-commercial fair is a special time for sharing a joke and catching up on the news. A tasting behind closed doors names 3 wines most likely to age well. Our red vintages from 1991, 1999, 2002 and 2004 were designated wines for laying down.
